Stalin-esque Show Trial At Tufts University

On Monday evening at Tufts University, I attended a long, grueling show trial -- the kind of show trial that doubtless will be repeated at campuses across the United States. This show trial was convened with the sole purpose of punishing The Primary Source, Tufts' lone conservative periodical. Read more about this mockery in my latest column.

Glenn Beck Show

I will be appearing on the terrific Glenn Beck Show on CNN Headline News today at 4 PM PT, 7 PM ET. We'll be discussing the University of Florida faculty and their numbskulled decision to deny former Florida Governor Jeb Bush an honorary degree.

Columns, columns, columns

I've forgotten to post some of my recent columns over the past couple of weeks. My newest column discusses whether Republicans can win with a "strong government" strategy, as George F. Will has suggested in the past. Republicans cannot win on a consistent basis unless they return to the principled dedication to smaller government; read the column to see why.

Last week, I wrote about 300; the left has attacked this movie relentlessly, largely because it portrays the fight between Western civilization and Persian civilization as a fight between freedom and tyranny.

Another one of my recent columns tackled the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals' decision regarding the Second Amendment, which was spot-on in its analysis of both the genesis and continuing relevance of the Second Amendment. It's rare that I agree with decisions by the federal judiciary; this one should be endorsed wholeheartedly.

ABCNews.com Column on John Edwards

John Edwards has turned down an invitation to debate Democratic presidential frontrunners Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on national television. Why, you ask, would an ailing candidate trailing far behind Clinton and Obama in the polls give up such an opportunity? The answer is simple: Fox News is co-sponsoring the debate. And as I discuss in my new column at ABCNews.com, John Edwards is desperately moving to the left to outflank his two competitors.

Sports Illustrated, Liberal? Who Woulda Thunk?

Drudge Report is expressing shock that Sports Illustrated is pushing the idea of man-made global warming. I discussed this in my column last week with regard to the magazine's "sports-above-all" moral relativism. As a long time subscriber to Sports Illustrated, it saddens me to watch the magazine infusing its excellent sports coverage with its ignorant politics.

Lost -- watch it!

As well as being a major fan of the TV show 24, I am a devoted follower of Lost. And last night's episode of Lost was excellent. The question of fate vs. free will is the major theme of the show -- it asks cosmic questions that won't be answered by the creators of the show until the end of the series. In any case, I recommend that everyone rent the first couple seasons of the show. It's well worth the time.
