Tiki Barber is a certified scumbag.  He recently dumped his seven-months-pregnant wife for a 23-year-old hot young blonde.

Clearly, this was love.  Or perhaps Tiki was hoping to blame Ronde (rumor has it he loves "The Prestige").  In any case, Tiki apparently found the one young blonde chick with whom Tiger Woods didn't have sex, then had sex with her.

On a more serious note, it's no wonder so many young Americans these days are confused about the issue of gay marriage.  That's because the Baby Boomers did away with the notion that adultery is a moral wrong.  With adultery legitimized, why not allow two men to get married?  After all, they can't make any more of a travesty of the institution than cheating straight people have. 

Adultery used to be a moral outrage.  Now it's just a cause for gawking.  In fact, it's even less than a cause for gawking -- now it's an advertising campaign starring Woods and encouraging you to buy shoes.  It's too late to whine about how the militant gay left is assaulting marriage -- the straight community made a mockery of it long ago by pushing no-fault divorce, legalization of adultery, and "victim" status for cheaters.  Bill Clinton was a "victim" according to the media, not a moral leper, because "everyone lies about sex."  Jim McGreevey was a "victim" according to the media, not a complete douche, because he was a gay man, not a man who cheated on his wife with another dude. 

Of course, that standard doesn't hold for everyone.  When conservatives cheat, they're excoriated because they have the temerity to advocate for a return to traditional values.  When liberals cheat, they're just living the European dream. 

But the bottom line remains: the fact that Tiki Barber will be let off the hook (watch, he'll be back on TV within five years, just as Woods has been back in the spotlight after mere months) is just more evidence that we've defined deviance so far down it may not be able to get up.
